Our agency is at Pointe des Grives, ZAC de l'Étang Z'Abricot. Collect your car there, or we deliver it to the cruise terminal, to the Express des Îles ferry terminal or to the airport — comprehensive insurance and unlimited mileage included.
Most car hire companies in Martinique make you go through Le Lamentin. We are based in Fort-de-France itself, at Pointe des Grives: come to us by car or taxi, or we bring the car to wherever you land — cruise terminal, Express des Îles ferry terminal or airport.
Cruise call at Fort-de-France, or a crossing from Guadeloupe, Dominica or Saint Lucia on the Express des Îles: book before you arrive and we bring the car straight to the terminal, where it waits for you, ready to go. The exact spot and how to collect the keys are sent to you before you arrive. You drive off as you disembark — no shuttle, no counter. The Pointe des Grives agency is a few minutes away by road if you would rather come and collect it.
Comprehensive insurance included, unlimited mileage, and no platform commission because you book directly with us. The price quoted is the price you pay — that has been our rule since day one.
A question about the road north, a doubt when returning the car, something unexpected: you reach a person who knows the island and knows your booking. That is what our 100+ Google reviews, rated 5.0, mostly talk about.

Tank refilled, car parked where indicated. Our instructions cover very early departures and late returns too.
Fort-de-France makes an excellent base: the city sits at the centre of the island and almost everything is under an hour away. Public transport, however, serves the southern beaches, the Route de la Trace and the Caribbean north poorly. That is where a car changes everything.
Balata Garden — about 20 minutes up the Route de la Trace. The finest climb on the island; go in the morning as the mist lifts.
Les Trois-Îlets and Anse Mitan — about 30 minutes by road, or the ferry from the waterfront if you leave the car behind.
Le Diamant — about 40 minutes. The rock, the vast beach, and the wind dropping in late afternoon.
Saint-Pierre — about 45 minutes along the Caribbean coast. The former capital, its ruins and its black sand beaches.
Sainte-Anne and Les Salines — about an hour. The picture-postcard south; go early to beat the crowds and the heat.
Mount Pelée and the north — allow 1h15 to 1h30 to the trailheads. A full day, and a car is essential.
Journey times are indicative, outside rush hour.
The city centre is busy during office hours. Three habits spare you most of the trouble: avoid the ring road between 7 and 8.30 am and again between 4 and 6 pm, when traffic towards Le Lamentin builds up sharply; use the covered car parks along the waterfront rather than street parking, which is usually full during the day; and keep coins for the blue zone, still in use in several streets in the centre.
Outside those windows, driving in Fort-de-France is straightforward. And once you leave the city, Martinique's roads present no particular difficulty — narrow and winding in the north, but well maintained.
Comprehensive insurance included, unlimited mileage, booked directly with us and commission-free.
Book my carAt our agency at Pointe des Grives, ZAC de l'Étang Z'Abricot, rue Moi Laminaire, 97200 Fort-de-France. The car can also be delivered to the cruise terminal, to the Express des Îles ferry terminal or to Aimé Césaire airport, depending on how you arrive — just say so when you book.
The simplest option is delivery to the terminal, whether you arrive on a cruise ship or on the Express des Îles from Guadeloupe, Dominica or Saint Lucia: book online before you arrive and the car is waiting for you when you step off, ready to go. The exact spot and how to collect the keys are sent to you before you arrive. You can also collect it at our Pointe des Grives agency, a few minutes away by taxi — on foot it is over 40 minutes, so it is not a walking distance. The return works the same way, before you re-board.
In most cases, yes. The southern beaches, the Route de la Trace and the Caribbean north are poorly served by public transport. From Fort-de-France, allow about 30 minutes to Les Trois-Îlets, 45 minutes to Saint-Pierre and an hour to Sainte-Anne — straightforward by car, complicated any other way.
